The Exclusive: Eden Rift 2022 Pinot Noir
This is more than just a wine; it is an exclusive, limited library wine. Included is the Eden Rift 2022 Pinot Noir, Lansdale Block, featuring a Special Edition Hall of Fame Seal and individually signed by Joe Thomas. Sourced from a historic, limestone-rich estate, this wine offers the perfect counterpoint to the richness
of the Wagyu.
The Lansdale Block delivers telltale intensity and dark fruits, with a captivating, extra spicy, dark underbrush tone—a certain sous-bois elegance. The bouquet is defined by notes of dried blackberries, cola spice, saddle leather, and brandied cherries. On the palate, you'll find sarsaparilla and birch notes
mingled with dark fruit and black cherry flavors that carry through to a lingering finish. Intriguing now, this wine possesses a real capacity to age, making it a spectacular investment for your cellar or your table.
Under vine since 1849—the first vines planted before California became a state—Eden Rift Vineyards stands as one of the oldest continuously farmed vineyard sites in California. Located in the remote Cienega Valley on the eastern flank of the Gabilan Mountains, the estate rests directly along the San Andreas Fault, where limestone-rich soils and maritime influence have shaped winegrowing for more than 175 years. While the first plantings were of Mission grapes, Pinot Noir made an early appearance, with cuttings from Burgundy planted in 1861, establishing what is now recognized as the earliest Pinot Noir planting in California, and setting the foundation for the estate’s long relationship with Burgundy’s most expressive grapes.
